Associate a custom Portfolio view with an entity
This feature is currently available only through beta testing.
In Quicken Classic Family Enterprise, you can associate a custom Portfolio view with a specific entity. When you switch entities, Quicken automatically displays the Portfolio view associated with that entity, so each entity retains its own Portfolio customization.
This feature requires the Set Portfolio View accounts by entity setting to be enabled. For more information, see Managing entities and accounts.
Before you start
Before associating a custom Portfolio view with an entity, confirm the following:
The entity already exists in your file.
Set Portfolio View accounts by entity is turned on in Manage Entities.
You are using one of the custom Portfolio views: Custom1 through Custom15. Custom views 16 through 19 cannot be associated with an entity.
Option 1: Associate a custom view from Manage Entities
Select the All Entities dropdown in the title bar.
Select Manage Entities.
Select the entity you want to configure.
Confirm that Set Portfolio View accounts by entity is checked.
Check Associate this entity with the view:.
Use the dropdown to select a custom view. Quicken automatically offers the next available custom view not yet associated with an entity.
Save your changes.
The selected custom Portfolio view is now tied to that entity.
Option 2: Associate a custom view from the Portfolio view
You can also make this association directly from the Portfolio view.
Select the entity you want from the entity dropdown in the title bar.
Go to Investing > Portfolio.
In the first Portfolio dropdown, select the custom view you want to use, such as Custom1 or Custom2.
Click Customize.
Click the Accounts tab.
Confirm that Set accounts by entity is turned on.
Check Associate this view with the current entity.
How it works
After a custom Portfolio view is associated with an entity:
Switching to that entity automatically displays its associated custom view.
Each entity can have its own custom Portfolio view.
The Manage Entities window (Option 1) automatically offers the next available custom view not yet associated with an entity. This automatic selection is not available when associating from the Portfolio view (Option 2).
Things to know
Custom Portfolio views are named Custom1 through Custom19 by default, but can be renamed through Portfolio customization. Only Custom1 through Custom15 can be associated with an entity.
The option to associate a custom view with an entity is only available when Set Portfolio View accounts by entity is enabled.
