How do I (Finding more rental property help)

1. If the property name, tag, address, and tenant name in the old RPM file are longer than the maximum length allowed in Quicken, then Quicken uses the name up to the maximum length allowed in Quicken.
   • Give me an example
     The maximum length allowed for a unit name in Quicken is 14 characters. If the unit name in the old RPM file is Candle Wood Suite 1, then Quicken stores the unit name as Candle Wood Su.
   • What is the maximum length allowed in Quicken?
     The maximum length allowed in Quicken is:

     • Property name: 40 characters
     • Property tag: 25 characters
     • Street field in the property address: 130 characters
     • Unit name: 14 characters
     • Unit tag: 39 characters (property tag length + unit name length)
     • Tenant name: 64 characters
2. After limiting to the maximum length allowed in Quicken, if multiple names are identical, Quicken replaces the last 3 characters in the conflicting name with a number series _xx (where xx can be 01 to 99).
   • Give me an example
     For example, say there are 3 units in the old RPM file named:

     • Mayten Park Building 1
     • Mayten Park Building 2
     • Mayten Park Building 3

     As the maximum length allowed in Quicken is 14, all the 3 unit names would be Mayten Park Bu. In such case, Quicken uses the number series _xx, so the unit names would be Mayten Park Bu, Mayten Park_01, and Mayten Park_02.

Note: Quicken uses this method for conflicts within a single RPM file. If there are naming conflicts in property name, tag, address, and tenant name in different files, import fails.
