Quicken can scan your transaction history for recurring bills and income you haven't scheduled yet, then suggest them as bill and income reminders. Adding these reminders keeps your Bills & Income dashboard and projected balances more complete and accurate. You can include, exclude, and edit each suggestion before Quicken creates it, and you can change the reminders later.
Start a scan
You can start a scan from either of these places:
-
In the Bills & Income window, click Scan for Bills & Income near the top of the window.
-
In the Bills & Income dashboard card, when no transactions are found for the selected time period, click Scan for Bills & Income.
You can run a scan again at any time from the Bills & Income window.
Review the results
Quicken presents the results in two steps: bills first, then deposits.
-
On Review Scheduled Bills, review the recurring transactions that look like bills. Each row shows the Date, Recurrence, Payee, Category, Amount, and Account.
-
Include or exclude items, add your own, and edit any details you want to change, as described below.
-
Click Continue to move on to deposits.
-
On Review Scheduled Deposits, review the recurring transactions that look like income, and adjust them the same way. Click Back if you need to return to bills.
-
Click Save to create the selected items as bill and income reminders.
To close without creating any reminders, click Close.
Include or exclude items
Each row has a checkbox. Select the items you want Quicken to create, and clear the ones you want to skip. Use Select All or Deselect All to change every item at once.
Add your own reminder
Click the plus (+) button to add a bill or deposit that the scan didn't find.
Edit an item before creating
To change an item's details, select it and click the pencil button, or double-click the item. The reminder opens with two tabs:
-
On Details, set the Payee, Account, Amount, Category, and related fields. For a bill, you can also choose a Payment Method and a Mark as Paid option. For a deposit, you can choose a Mark as Deposited option.
-
On Schedule, set the Frequency, the Starting date, and when the reminder should End. A Summary and a preview of the next several dates show how the schedule will run.
Click OK to return to the review list.
