Resizing the Sidebar
Quicken lets you resize the sidebar to have more room to work on transactions in the register. You can either shrink the sidebar to suit your space requirements or switch to a thin sidebar that gives the maximum space to work with the register.
Did you lose your sidebar?
Sometimes people accidentally collapse/close their sidebar and don't know how to restore it.
If you have collapsed your sidebar, click the icon to expand it again. You can also do this by going to the View menu and selecting Show Sidebar.
To resize the sidebar
Hover your pointer at the divider of the sidebar
When the resize cursor appears (a horizonatal double-arrow), click and hold the divider.
Drag back or forth to adjust the sidebar width. As you shrink the sidebar, balances will disappear
Grow the sidebar to display the balances again.
Release the mouse button to set the new size.
Resize the Separate Accounts section
If you use Separate Accounts, you can adjust that section’s height in the sidebar to better organize your account view.
Hover over the divider above the Separate Accounts section.
When the resize cursor appears (a vertical double-arrow), click and hold the divider.
Drag up or down to adjust the section height.
Release the mouse button to set the new size.
