View and edit your Calendar transactions
The Calendar in Quicken Classic for Mac gives you a daily view of your financial activity. You can use it to track upcoming scheduled transactions, review past entries, and view your investment gains and losses. If you're using Quicken Home & Business, the Calendar also includes business-related transactions such as invoices and payments.
Calendar entries fall into three categories:
Transactions: Posted and scheduled entries tied to your personal or business accounts
Investment performance: Daily gain/loss summaries for your investment accounts
Business activity (Home & Business only): Scheduled invoices, payments received, or expenses
View and edit personal or business transactions
To view a transaction from the calendar:
Click the Calendars tab in the top navigation bar
Click the date that contains the transaction
A list of transactions scheduled or posted for that date appears
Click a transaction to open it in its account register
Once the transaction is open in the register:
Edit any field as needed—such as Payee, Amount, Category, or Memo
Press Return or click outside the field to save
If the transaction is part of a recurring schedule (e.g., monthly rent, vendor invoice):
You’ll be prompted to choose between Edit This Instance or Edit All Instances
Business transactions, such as recurring invoices or vendor payments, behave the same way and are editable through the register after selection.
View investment gains and losses
If you track investment accounts in Quicken, the Calendar may show a summary of daily portfolio performance.
To view investment gain/loss data:
Locate the day with a percentage change (e.g., +6.40%)
Click once on the percentage or associated balance
A Gain/Loss summary popup will appear
This popup includes:
A Gain section listing the securities with net increases
A Loss section showing those that decreased
Each item includes the ticker symbol, full name, and amount gained or lost
This view is read-only and reflects market performance based on the latest downloaded quotes.
