How do I work with attached images?

Use Quicken's Attachments Viewer to view attachments, open the attachment in its associated Windows application (such as Windows Photo Viewer, Adobe Photoshop, or GIMP), save attachments to your hard drive so they can be accessed outside of Quicken, upload an attachment to the cloud, or delete attachments that you no longer need.

First, open the Attachments Viewer for the transaction attachment or account attachment you want to work with.

To view an attachment within Quicken

After you add an attachment, Quicken adds an attachment icon to the selected transaction. Just click the icon to view the attachment in the Attachments Viewer. The attachment iconlink.png typically appears in the Date field of the transaction; for an investment transaction list in one-line display mode, it appears in the Attachments column (looks like a paper clip).

To view multiple attachments for a transaction

In the Attachments Viewer, click the arrow icon. You can now view the thumbnail image of the all the attachments for the selected transaction.

Notes

Each transaction can have an unlimited number of attachments stored in a Quicken data file, and you can view these images only on your desktop software. For accounts for which you've enabled mobile and alerts, you can also have one attachment stored in the Quicken Cloud for each transaction.

To open an attachment in its associated Windows application (such as Windows Photo Viewer, Adobe Photoshop, or GIMP)

In the Attachments Viewer, double-click the attachment that you want to open.

Or

  1. In the Attachments Viewer, click the attachment that you want to open.

  2. Click the gear icon or the cloud icon at the bottom right of the attachment thumbnail.

  3. Click View/Open.

To upload an attachment to the cloud

  1. In the Attachments Viewer, click the attachment that you want to upload to the cloud.

  2. Click the gear icon or the cloud icon at the bottom right of the attachment thumbnail.

  3. Click Upload to cloud.

Notes

  • If you already have an existing attachment file to the cloud, you must delete the existing attachment file on the cloud before you upload a new file.

  • For accounts for which you've enabled mobile and alerts, you can have one attachment stored in the Quicken Cloud for each transaction. If you are attaching an image to an account for which you've enabled mobile and alerts, Quicken automatically uploads the first image to the cloud.

  • You can attach a .bmp, .gif, .ico, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, or .tiff file that is up to 5 MB in file size.
