How do I import contact information?

This topic applies to Quicken Business & Personal only.

Many software applications have address book capabilities. If you maintain information in another contact management application such as Microsoft Outlook, you can import that information into Quicken. Conversely, if you have a list of addresses in Quicken that you would like to transfer to another application, you can export them into that application.ƒ

  1. Choose File menu → File Import → Addresses.

  2. Choose whether the file is comma or tab-delimited, enter the name of the file you want to import (click Browse to search for it), and then click Next.

  3. Select the fields you want to import.

    • Tell me more about selecting the fields to import

Quicken maps the fields found in your file to Quicken Address Book fields, with the Quicken Address Book fields on the left, and the imported fields on the right.

      • If you don't want to map an imported field to a Quicken Address Book field, click the Quicken Address Book field and choose Do Not Import.

      • If you want to map an imported field to a different Quicken Address Book field, click the Quicken Address Book field and choose the field you would like instead.

  4. Click Done.

Note

If you re-import a list of addresses (if, for example, you've added some addresses since you last imported the list), all addresses that already exist in Address Book will be duplicated. Be sure to either import only the new addresses or delete any duplicates from the Address Book.
