About hiding, separating, and closing accounts

Quicken provides multiple ways to view and hide accounts in the Display Options tab:



Hide in Account Bar & Account List

Hide in Transaction Entry Lists

Keep this Account Separate

Close Account

The account is not displayed in the Account Bar and Account List

The account is not included in net worth calculations

The account is not included in features using historical data

The account is not included by default in reports and graphs

The account is not available as a selection in transaction entry lists (transfers, Reminders setup, etc.)

The account is not enabled for transaction download

The account balance is set to zero

Notes
  • Hiding an account in the Account Bar has no effect on reporting or other features. Accounts must be marked as separate to be removed from reporting and other feature

  • A closed account cannot be reopened, however, if an account is closed due to an error, it can be undone by restoring a backup.
