When you split a transaction, the Auto-Adjust option helps you calculate amounts as you work. Select the Auto-Adjust radio button on any split line and Quicken automatically recalculates that line's amount as you enter or change other values, keeping the split total balanced. You can also select Auto-Adjust on the Total row, which causes the total to update as you change individual line amounts.
To use auto-adjust in the split editor

Open the transaction you want to split. If you are editing a bill reminder from Bills & Income, click the ... (three-dot menu) next to the reminder and choose Edit All Instances or Edit This Instance.

Click the Split button next to Category to open the split editor.

Enter your split line items and amounts.

Click the Auto-Adjust radio button in the rightmost column next to:

A split line, if you want Quicken to calculate that line's amount as you adjust others.

The Total row, if you want the total to update as you enter or change individual line amounts.

Adjust your amounts. Quicken recalculates the auto-adjusted line or total automatically.

Click Save.
