Examples of customizing your calendar

You can customize the Calendar in Quicken Classic for Mac to show only the accounts you want to monitor. This allows you to focus on a specific part of your finances—such as your savings goals, investment performance, or upcoming loan payments—without clutter from unrelated accounts.

Each customized view can include one or multiple accounts and reflects scheduled and posted transactions, depending on the account type.

Track balances and cash flow

Create a calendar for savings accounts

Use a savings-only calendar to monitor deposits, scheduled transfers, and interest over time. You can select all your savings accounts or focus on a single account for more detailed tracking.

Create a calendar for checking or credit card accounts

If you want to keep an eye on daily spending and payment due dates, set up a calendar that includes only your checking or credit card accounts. This makes it easier to anticipate outflows and spot irregular activity.

Monitor long-term financial activity

Create a calendar for loan accounts

Use a loan-only calendar to track scheduled payments and view how those payments affect your daily balances. This is especially useful if you're managing multiple loans and want to verify payment timing.

Create a calendar for asset accounts

You can also isolate assets—such as vehicles or property accounts—to monitor balance changes over time or track large one-time adjustments like purchases or write-downs.

Evaluate investment performance

Create a calendar for investment accounts

If you want to see how your portfolio is performing day by day, create a calendar that includes only your investment accounts. Then enable Show Investment Changes to display daily percentage gain/loss figures directly in the calendar. Clicking any percentage opens a detailed view of which securities gained, lost, or remained unchanged.

This view helps you watch market performance without running a separate report.

Separate business and personal finances

Create a calendar for business accounts (Business & Personal only)

If you're using Quicken Classic for Mac – Business & Personal, create a business-only calendar to view invoicing activity, payment due dates, and vendor-related transactions separately from your personal accounts. This makes it easier to keep business financials organized and on schedule.

Calendar customization tips

  • You can include as many or as few accounts as you need in a custom view

  • Each account type displays data based on its activity (e.g., transactions, balances, or investment changes)

  • Investment change data appears only if quote updates are enabled and downloaded

  • Scheduled transactions appear as reminders and affect projected balances for supported account types

What the Calendar does not display

  • You cannot filter the Calendar by category, tag, or payee alone—it’s based on accounts

  • Hidden or closed accounts won’t appear in the customization list unless reactivated

  • The Calendar does not display estimated account totals that include future income unless scheduled transactions are present

How to customize your Calendar

To create or modify a custom calendar view:

  1. Click the Calendars tab in the top navigation bar
