How do I change my Quicken Profile and Mobile & Alerts Preferences?
After you've set up your Quicken desktop software, you might want to make changes to the profile that you created. Here's how:
- Click the Mobile & Web tab.
- Click Edit profile.
- If prompted, enter your password. Depending on how you've set things up, this may either be your Password Vault password, or your Quicken ID password.
- The Preferences dialog displays.
Changes you can make:
Quicken Profile
- Update your Quicken ID
Click the Change link to update your Quicken ID. After changing your Quicken ID, you should use the updated Quicken ID to sign in to all Quicken services.
- Update your email address
Click the Change link to update your email address. You will receive all communications from Quicken, including mobile alerts on this email address. It is also used if you forget your Quicken ID or password, and you try to retrieve it.
- Update your contact information
Click the Change link to update the contact information that is associated with your Quicken ID.
- Change your Quicken password
Click the Change Quicken Password link to change the password for your Quicken ID. Your password must be between 6-16 characters long, and contain no spaces. Once changed, you can use your new Quicken ID password to sign in to all Quicken services. Remember to make the same change on all of the mobile devices that you want to sync with this data file.
- Sign in as a different user
Click the
Sign in as a different User link to sign in as a different user. Before you can sign in as a different user, you must first unlink your data file from the Quicken ID that you are currently using. When you "unlink" a data file from an Quicken ID, your data is no longer synced between your desktop data file and the mobile devices that use the same Quicken ID. Unlinking does not delete your Quicken ID, nor does it delete any of your data stored in the Quicken Cloud.
- Once changed, you'll use your Quicken ID to sign in to all Quicken Services.
- Your email address is used for all communications from Quicken, including mobile alerts. It is also used if you forget your Quicken ID or password.
Why you might want to do this:
- You can't remember the password for your Quicken ID, and you can't reset your password because you don't have access to the email account that you're using.
- You want to use your Quicken ID with a different data file.
Change your security question
Click the Change Security Question link to change the security question associated with this Quicken ID. You should remember your security question and answer because you will need it handy if you forget your Quicken password and you want to retrieve it.
Mobile and Alerts
- Update the accounts that are synced with Quicken Mobile and Web
Click the Account to sync link to select or deselect the accounts that you want to sync with Quicken Mobile and Web and receive alerts for.
- Update your alert settings
Click the Alert settings link to change the Account Summary Notifications schedule, add a secondary email for alerts, and change the alerts you receive.
- Reset your cloud data
Click the Reset your Cloud data link to delete the cloud data associated with the currently opened data file and then immediately re-sync your data for the same time period. Cloud data is not permanently deleted. For more information, see How do I reset my cloud data on the Quicken cloud?
