If a bill reminder shows the wrong due date—especially a date far in the future—it may be the result of an outdated setup, such as a billing cycle that changed and was never updated. Because the Bills & Income view only shows the month and day, not the year, it can be hard to spot this kind of issue.
Check the full due date
To find out if a reminder is using the wrong year:
-
In the Bills, Income & Transfers view, hover over the date in the Current Bill column.
-
A tooltip will appear with the full date, including the year (for example, Wednesday, September 12, 2029).
Fix the due date from the Bills & Income tab
You can correct the date and schedule without deleting the reminder.
To edit the reminder:
-
Select the Bills & Income tab.
-
Find the reminder with the incorrect date.
-
In the Action column, click the ▼ button.
-
Choose Edit this instance and all future instances.
-
Update the Next due date with the correct year, and adjust the frequency if needed.
-
Click OK.
Use the Bill and Income Reminders window
If you prefer a list view, you can manage reminders from the Tools menu.
To edit or delete from the reminders list:
-
Select Tools > Manage Bill and Income Reminders.
-
Locate the reminder in the All Bills & Deposits tab.
-
Right-click the reminder or use the row’s Edit or Delete options:
-
Select Edit this instance and all future instances to change the date or frequency.
-
Or choose Delete this instance and all future instances if the reminder is no longer valid.
-
-
If you delete the reminder, select Add > Bill Reminder to re-create it with the correct schedule.
