Export or copy a budget

You can export or copy your budget from Quicken Classic for Mac to analyze it in a spreadsheet, print a summary, or share it outside the app.

Export your budget as a CSV file

Exporting creates a comma-separated values (CSV) file you can open in Excel, Numbers, or another spreadsheet program.

  1. In the Budgets tab, switch to the 12-month view, then click the Export button in the upper-right corner of the budget screen.

  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • Export Full Budget CSV – Exports your full monthly budget. Each category row includes Actual, Budgeted, and Difference values for each month of the year. Best for spotting patterns, analyzing seasonal changes, or building year-over-year comparisons.

    • Export Summary Budget CSV – Exports a single total for each category, showing Actual, Budgeted, and Difference values across all months. Includes summary totals for income and expenses. Best for printing, reporting, or comparing overall performance to plan.

Copy your budget to the clipboard

Note: Clipboard exports can be pasted directly into spreadsheet programs like Excel and Numbers.
