Create more than one budget

In Quicken Classic for Mac, you can create multiple budgets to reflect different financial goals, timelines, or planning scenarios. This is useful if you want to manage separate household and business budgets, plan for a major event like a wedding or renovation, or compare yearly financial strategies.

Reasons to create additional budgets

Creating more than one budget allows you to organize and track different sets of income and expenses independently. This flexibility makes it easier to manage distinct financial plans without altering your primary budget.

Examples of when to create a second budget

  • Planning for a special project or event, like a vacation or wedding

  • Creating a business budget separate from personal finances

  • Starting a new budget for a different calendar year

  • Testing alternative financial scenarios without changing your main plan
