What if Quicken tells me the earning must be a positive amount when setting up a paycheck?

This message appears when you're setting up a paycheck and one of the earnings fields is blank, zero, or negative.

To continue, make sure every earning item has a positive dollar amount. Quicken won’t allow you to save a paycheck with a zero or negative value in the Earnings section.
