Release R28.15 (Canada Versions, Oct 2020)

Before you install this update, we recommend you perform a One Step Update to ensure that your data is synced to the cloud. You should also make a backup of your data file.

  • Fixed: Issue with One Step Update requesting passwords when user stores passwords for some but not all financial institutions.
  • New: For new users, added an in-product chat option to make it easier to contact support from within Quicken. The chat icon is located next to the help question mark on the Quicken title bar.
  • Improved: Added warning message for users who are accessing their Data File remotely rather than from their local drive. Users are now informed that there is an increased risk of file corruption and slow response times when accessing files remotely.
  • Improved: Replaced old support screen sharing with new CoBrowsing.
  • Improved: Several improvements to manual budgeting related to creating, managing, and carrying forward categories, as well as improving annual and monthly views.
  • Improved: Detection and correction of column width issues in transaction reports.
  • Improved: Updated the look and feel of the Security Detail View.
  • Fixed: An issue in which the Tax Item column was not appearing properly in older saved reports.
  • Fixed: An issue in which users were encountering sign-in errors after a recent update.
  • Fixed: An issue in which scheduled updates stopped working until Quicken was restarted.
  • Fixed: An issue in which the ALT+A keyboard shortcut had ceased working in the register.
  • Fixed: An issue in which One Step Update was having significant slowing issues for some customers. Also fixed issues relating to slowness during startup and accessing investment accounts.
  • Fixed: An issue in which report column resizing did not carry over to the next use of the report.
  • Fixed: An issue in which duplicate transactions were added to the investment register when accepting a transaction using the small Accept button when performing compare to register.
  • Beta feature: Added new beta feature, Simple Investing. With Simple Investing, Quicken only keeps track of the positions (number of shares for each security) over time, and your cash balances. Quicken's tracking is based on information provided by your broker.  Your portfolio value, net worth, and investment returns over time will be available, but Quicken will not be able to calculate capital gains and losses or investment income. Quicken will display an account summary rather than an investment transaction register when the account is selected. To access this feature, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Investment transactions and select Enable Simple Investing (positions only). Standard investment tracking is still available. This is an additional option.
  • Fixed: An issue in which Reset Account was not successful due to a failure to delete duplicate accounts.
  • New: Added an Investing dashboard that includes a new Top Movers. The dashboard is aimed at reducing the complexity of the Investing view to make it easier to quickly assess the status of your investments.
  • Improvement: The Account Overview tab will no longer appear under the Business tab unless a user has created a business account.
  • Improvement: Created an option to allow users to include the Notes column in their transaction reports. The Notes column can be sorted and is available for printing and export.
  • Improved: Changed the default Find (CTRL-f) field from Date to any field.
  • Improved: Changing or removing of Tax Line Item categories is now restricted. This is to prevent accidentally altering tax-related information.
  • Improved: Error messaging for users who cannot access a cloud-based data file has been improved to explain that the file cannot be accessed because it is already in use by another application.
  • Improved: Increased speed of updating investment quotes from the investments tab by not downloading historical quotes. Historical quotes are always downloaded during One Step Update. To include historical quotes from the Portfolio View use Shift-Get Quotes.
  • Improved: To help when you have multiple duplicate transactions, you can now delete multiple transactions in the Compare to Register.
  • Improved: Returned keyboard shortcut functionality for attachments. The shortcut ALT+ERH will open the Attachments in the Attachments window, use ALT-S to attach an image from a scanner, use ALT-F to attach a file, or use ALT-C to attach from your Clipboard.
