Quicken offers robust features to help you manage your financial data, including creating and customizing reports and graphs that reflect your personal finances. Use this guide to work through the process.
Create a report or graph
-
Select Reports > Reports & Graphs Center. This is your hub for all reporting tools.
-
In the Quicken Standard Reports section, click the arrow next to the category that covers the information you need, such as Banking.
-
Choose the report or graph you want, such as Cash Flow, from the expanded list.
-
Set your date range. For comparison reports, set two date ranges. If a graph is available for the report, a Show Graph button appears.
-
To customize the report further, click Customize. A window opens with options for the Display, Accounts, Categories, Payees, and Advanced elements of the report.
Print and export
-
To print a report or graph, press Ctrl + P or click the Print icon.
-
To analyze the data in another program such as Excel, use the Export function.
Manage columns
You can tailor the display of a report to your preferences by adjusting column sizes, removing columns you don't need, and choosing which columns appear.
Change column widths
In many reports, you can adjust column widths to give certain columns more or less space.
-
Hover your cursor over the line between two columns until you see two arrows.
-
Drag the line left or right to reduce or expand the width of the column.
Remove a column
Many columns are required, but if a column can be removed, a small x appears when you hover over the column name. Click the x to remove the column.
Select the columns to include
A column icon may appear at the far right of the report. Use it to select which columns to include or remove. If this option isn't available, all the columns are required.
Navigate the report menu bar
The report menu bar gives you tools for viewing and managing a report, from moving through your report history to exporting the data.
-
Back returns you to the previous view or screen in the report history, much like a browser's back button.
-
History opens a list of recently viewed reports and screens so you can jump to a specific point in your session.
-
Forward moves you ahead in the history to the view you came from after you use Back.
-
Delete discards the changes you've made to the report and returns it to its default settings.
-
Email sends the current report to yourself or others as a PDF or an Excel Workbook.
-
Display changes the font size and row spacing for the report, sets alternating colors for some reports, and provides Additional Settings for all reports.
-
Print starts the printing process for the current report.
-
Export sends the current report data to another format or application. Your options are Excel Workbook, Text, PDF, and Copy to Clipboard.
-
Save saves the current state of the report so you can return to it later.
-
Find/Replace searches the report for specific information and replaces it.
-
Customize opens the customization options for the current report.
-
Help opens Quicken's help resources for reports.
Back, History, Forward, and Delete become available only after you change an aspect of the report, such as the Date range.
