Set Up Alerts

You can configure Quicken Classic for Mac to notify you when specific financial events occur, such as large deposits, low balances, or upcoming bills. Alerts help you stay informed without checking each account manually.

Alerts apply only to accounts selected in the Accounts tab under Mobile, Web & Alerts in Settings. You must have sync enabled to use alerts.

How to configure alerts

There are two ways to open the Alerts configuration screen:

  • Go to Quicken > Settings > Mobile, Web & Alerts, then click the Alerts tab

  • Or, click the Alerts button at the top of the window, then click the gear icon in the top right corner of the Alerts page

Once you're in the Alerts settings:

  1. For each alert type, check Enabled to activate it

  2. Select one or more delivery methods: Email, Text, or Mobile

  3. For alerts with thresholds (such as Large Purchase or Bank Fees), enter the desired amount in the Description field

Your contact information for alerts appears at the bottom of the window. To update it, click Edit Contact Information.

If you prefer not to see alerts inside Quicken, check Do not show Alerts in Notification Center.

  • In-app – Shown in the Quicken Notification Center unless disabled

Use the checkboxes next to each method to customize how each alert is delivered.

Example

If you enable the Large Purchase alert with a $500 threshold, Quicken will notify you whenever a synced account posts a transaction over $500. The alert will specify which account triggered it and be delivered by the methods you’ve chosen.
