Managing clients from the Clients tab
The Clients tab allows you to manage the people or businesses you invoice. You can add and edit client information, create and track invoices, record payments, and issue refunds.
View client activity
The client list displays the most recent activity and current balance for each client:
Latest Activity – The date of the last invoicing activity for the client.
Credit – Any credit the client currently holds.
Unbilled – Billable expenses and time that have not yet been added to an invoice.
Billed – Total amount invoiced to the client.
Paid – Total payments received.
Unpaid – Current outstanding balance.
Overdue – Portion of the unpaid balance that is past due.
To view more details for a client, double-click the client's name in the list. This opens the Client Details view, where you can see profitability, total invoices, open or overdue balances, unbilled expenses, and available credit. You can also access tabs for Invoices, Transactions, and Notes, and use the toolbar to create a new invoice, record a payment, or issue a refund.
Add a new client
To add a client:
Click the New Client button at the top of the Clients tab.
Enter the client's name and any other information you want to track.
Click Save.
The new client will appear in the client list, and you can begin creating invoices or recording activity for them.
Take action on a client
With a client selected, you can do the following from the menu bar:
Click New Invoice to create an invoice.
Click Receive Payment to record a payment.
Click Issue Refund to issue a refund for a paid invoice.
Click Edit to update the client’s information.
Click View to open the Client Detail View.
You can also use the Actions menu (three-dot icon) next to a client name to access these options:
View Client – Open the Client Detail View.
Edit Client – Change the client's information.
Hide Client – Remove the client from the visible list without deleting their data.
Delete Client… – Permanently remove the client from your records.
Receive Payment – Record a payment.
Issue Refund – Issue a refund for a paid invoice.
New Invoice – Create a new invoice for the selected client. (three-dot icon) next to a client name to quickly open available options.
