What if all my accounts aren't listed in the QIF Import dialog?
The Quicken account to import into field in the QIF Import dialog lists only valid accounts for QIF import. If an account is missing from the list, it may not exist yet in your current data file or may not meet import requirements.
You can use QIF files to import data into any account type, including banking, investment, asset, liability, and cash accounts. This includes checking, savings, credit card, 401(k), brokerage, and others.
To import successfully, the destination account must already exist in your Quicken file. If you're importing a list—such as categories, securities, or memorized payees—the list must match an existing, valid account type in your file.
If you're using Quicken Home & Business, you can also import into accounts payable and invoice accounts.
