Understanding the Cash Flow tab
The Cash Flow tab in the Business section shows your business’s income, expenses, and available cash for a selected month. Use this tab to monitor trends, spot shortfalls, and plan ahead.
Overview section
At the top of the screen, you can adjust what’s shown using the following controls:
← / → arrows – Move between months.
Select Accounts – Choose which business accounts to include in the report.
Cash Flow Details – Open a detailed list of the transactions behind the inflow and outflow totals.
Projected Balances – View future inflows and outflows based on scheduled transactions.
Inflow, Outflow & What’s Left graph
This bar chart shows a visual summary of your cash movement:
Income – Total money received during the month.
Expenses – Total money spent.
Profit/Loss – Net result of income minus expenses.
📊 Bars are shown in thousands of dollars for clarity.
Inflow, Outflow, and What’s Left summary
This section breaks down actual inflows and outflows for the selected month, with links to view supporting detail.
Category | Description |
---|---|
Inflow | Shows total deposits, including customer payments and transfers in. |
Outflow | Shows total expenses, including bills and transfers to savings. |
What’s Left | The net difference between inflow and outflow. If negative, it’s shown in red. |
Additional values shown:
Checking Balance as of [start date]
Cash Flow difference for the month
Total Available through the end of the month
Click any blue link (such as Other Deposits or Other Expenses) to drill into that section.
Account Balance Graph
At the bottom of the tab, a separate graph shows your daily balance for a selected checking account:
Use the Show dropdown to choose an account.
The graph shows each day’s end balance during the selected month.
Use this view to monitor patterns and low-balance periods.
