Quicken did not recognize these securities

This message appears when Quicken tries to match downloaded securities to known ticker symbols but can't identify one or more of them.

This can happen for several reasons:

  • The downloaded ticker symbol is incorrect or outdated

  • The security is not publicly traded (e.g., a private fund, custom investment, or internal transfer)

  • The financial institution did not include a ticker symbol in the download

  • You manually entered the security earlier with a different name or symbol

To complete the download, review each unrecognized security listed in the dialog.

What to do

For each security:

  • If the ticker symbol is incorrect:
Enter the correct Ticker and click Connect Again. Quicken will try to match the corrected symbol with known securities.

  • If the security has no ticker symbol (or is not publicly traded):
Enter a clear, descriptive Security Name and click Enter Manually.
Quicken will treat this as a manually tracked security and will not attempt to download quotes or fundamentals.

You can edit or update these entries later from the Security List if needed.
