Enter information about your savings in the Lifetime Planner
In this section, you’ll enter savings you expect to accumulate in the future. The Lifetime Planner uses this information to project how you’ll pay for expenses in retirement or during other stages of your plan.
Open the Planning tab and select Lifetime Planner.
Click Plan Assumptions if the assumptions list isn’t already visible.
Click Savings in the list.
The Savings dialog opens.
Add or edit a savings account
Click New to enter a new savings source, or select an existing savings entry and click Edit to update it.
Savings accounts in the Lifetime Planner represent expected future contributions—not existing balances. To include current balances, be sure the account is listed in your net worth and marked for inclusion in your plan.
You can enter two types of savings:
Tax-deferred savings: Savings into plans like traditional IRAs or 401(k)s where taxes are deferred.
Taxable savings: Savings into regular accounts that are not tax-deferred.
📝 These are savings accounts only—not investment accounts.
